This dialog provides access to mesh stripping procedures. The mesh is typically stripped in the following situations:

• after completing topology optimization to prepare the model for shape optimization and
• after partial topology optimization to reduce the model size for further topology optimization.

NOTE. A mesh stripping procedure automatically generates a new surface defined by the current stripped surface. This new surface is added to the list of imported surfaces.

To strip the mesh for shape optimization ...

1. Click the Analyze button.

2. Select the Remove void elements to enable shape optimization option.

3. Optionally, adjust the element cutting precision.

4. Click the Strip button.

To strip the mesh for model reduction ...

1. Click the Analyze button.

2. Select the Remove void elements to reduce model size option.

3. Adjust the removal parameters, especially the material region expansion parameter.

4. Click the Strip button.

NOTE. All changes done within this dialog become permanent only after exiting the dialog. Before exit, all these changes can be reversed by choosing the Undo all changes command from the Additional menu.
